STORM LAKE, Iowa - 26 Kohawk turnovers turned into 27 points for Buena Vista Saturday as the Beavers came away with an 84-66 victory over the Kohawks. Coe fell to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the Iowa Conference in its first road conference game of the year. 

Buena Vista jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first 9:12, but the Kohawks clawed their way back into the game late in the first half. Sophomore Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) scored four points, as Coe went on a 12-3 run over the next 2:27, cutting the Beaver lead to two poitns with 6:46 to play in the opening half. The Beavers controlled the rest of the first half, as they closed on a 16-6 run, giving them a 36-24 lead at the break.

The Kohawks cut the lead to six in the in the first 3:17 of the second half on a 13-7 run, but Buena Vista opened the game up from there. After the Kohawks cut the lead to eight points with 8:58 to play in the game, Buena Vista went on a 16-1 run over the next 2:49 to make it a 23 point game.

Sophomore Brittany Norris (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) led the Kohawks with 16 points. She also added five rebounds. Freshman Kayla Waskow (Dunkerton, Iowa/Dunkerton) added 10 points for Coe. Sophomore Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) had a game-high nine rebounds, while adding seven points.

Coe returns to action next Saturday, as they travel across town to face Mt. Mercy.
