REDLANDS, Calif. - The first game of Coe's two-game trip to California didn't turn out the way the Coe faithful would like. Tied at halftime, the Kohawks gave up a 13-0 run starting at 7:05 to play in the game, giving the Leopards of La Verne a 65-57 victory.

Sophomores Brittany Norris (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) and Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) led the Kohawks with 13 points apiece.

La Verne took control in the second half, as the Kohawks led for just :22 of the 20 minutes played. After hitting four 3-point baskets in the first half, Coe went cold from downtown, failing to hit on any of its six attempts. The Leopards held the Kohawks to just 21 field goal attempts and the Kohawks were only able to hit nine of them.

Sophomore Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) added eight points and a team-high eight rebounds. She joined Norris and sophomore Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) with four assists apiece.

The Leopards improved to 5-0 on the year, scoring 30 points off the Kohawks 21 turnovers. It marked the eighth time this year the Kohawks have turned the ball over more than 20 times in a game. The Coe bench outscored the Leopards 23-6, as La Verne only played seven players in the game.
