CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coe scored the games first two points, but never held a lead from that point forward, as they fell to Loras 60-49 in the Iowa Conference and home opener for the Kohawks.

Sophomore Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) made a lay-up with 19:36 to play in the first half before the Duhawks went on a 22-7 run over the next 13:15.

Coe answered with a 9-2 run, but Loras added to the lead and took a 32-23 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. Loras opened the second half on a 7-0 run, increasing their lead to 16. Coe was never able to get the lead under 10 points for the remainder of the game.

Senior Calie Sobaski (Iowa City, Iowa/City) had a team-high 14 points. Sobaski was a perfect 2-for-2 from 3-point range. Sophomore Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) and Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) added 11 and 10 points respectively. Anciaux also had a team-high six rebounds and four assists.

Loras hit 41.3 percent of their shots, while holding the Kohawks to just 32.1 percent from the field. Coe struggled from the free throw line, hitting just two of eight attempts in the first half, while finishing 10 of 19.

Coe returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Buena Vista. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Storm Lake.
