REDLANDS, Calif. - Coe jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the game's first five minutes and held off a late second half rally by Redlands for a 67-58 win over host Redlands. The win improved the Kohawks to 5-5 on the year.
With 10:16 to play in the game, Redlands went on a 9-0 run over the next 4:12 to give them a one-point lead. After giving up a big run the night before against La Verne, the Kohawks bounced back with a 12-2 run over the next 3:20, sparked by five points each by sophomores Brittany Norris (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) and Tara Carsner (Marion, Iowa/Marion). Coe held Redlands to just one field goal in the games final 6:03.
Norris had a team-high 17 points and five rebounds. She was also a perfect 3-for-3 from 3-point range. Norris was joined in double-figures by sophomore Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) with 10 points and senior Calie Sobaski (Iowa City, Iowa/City) with 11 points. Anciaux added a game-high six assists. Coe's bench outscored Redlands 28-2. Sophomore Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) had a team-high seven rebounds and five assists.
Anciaux and Norris were named to the All-Tournament team.
