CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coe used an 11-2 run early in the first half to take a seven point lead, but it was Simpson's 27-5 run over the final 7:35 of the first half that led to Simpson's 82-52 win over the Kohawks wednesday night at Eby Fieldhouse.

The ninth-ranked Storm went on a 19-0 run at one point during the first half.

The Kohawks cut the lead to 16 three times in the second half, but an 8-2 run by the Storm increased the lead to 22 with 12:35 to play and a 16-3 run late in the game moved the lead to 34 before the Kohawks could hit the final two baskets of the game.

Sophomore Brittany Norris (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) had a game-high 19 points. It was her ninth-straight game in double-figures. Sophomore Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) added seven rebounds and a game-high five assists.

Simpson shot 51 percent from the field, while holding the Kohawks to just 33 percent. The Storm were near perfect from the charity stripe, connecting on 14-of-16 attempts, while the Kohawks struggled, hitting just 56 percent from the line.

Coe returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Central. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Pella.
