DECORAH, Iowa - Rain on Friday forced many players to play five or more matches on Saturday, but things turned out well for the Coe College men as they won three of the five flights at the Iowa Conference Championships.

In Flight A Singles, top-seeded Noah Sprinkel (Minneapolis, Minn./South) and freshman Riley Galbraith (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) both advanced to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Galbraith knocked off Sprinkel 8-3, as he advanced to the finals against second-seeded Nick Garcia of Dubuque. Garcia won the title 8-1 over Galbraith, while Sprinkel finished third with an 8-4 win.

At Flight B Singles, Geoffrey Brochet beat top-seeded Tim Kahl of Central 8-4 in the semifinals.  In the finals, Brochet beat Josh Forst of Central 8-2.

For the second-straight year, Sprinkel and senior Curtis Newman (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) won the Flight A Doubles Championship.  The duo played four matches on the day for the victory.  In the semifinals, they beat fourth-seeded Mozena and Ayer of Luther before downing second-seeded Karki and Foley of Luther 8-6 in the championship match.  It was an all Coe final in Flight B Doubles, as Alex Klaas (Douman, Wis./Catholic Memorial) and Daken Starkenburg (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) beat Mitch Schumacher and Mark Kroll 8-2 in the championship match.

The Kohawks wrap up a short fall schedule next weekend as they travel to St. Peter, Minn. for the ITA Midwest Regionals.
