DUBUQUE, Iowa - A foul on Coe's Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) with 3.7 to play sent Loras to the line, where Makeda Queen hit two free throws to give the Duhawks a 63-61 win Saturday.  It was the second-straight IIAC loss for the Kohawks.
The Kohawks trailed by seven with 13:20 to play, but a 9-2 run, including four points from freshman Sarah Waskow (Dunkerton, Iowa/Dunkerton) tied the game with 10:17 to play. After tying the game again with 8:55 to play, the Kohawks took the lead for the first time since early in the second half.

With 1:47 to play, Lindsay Bava hit a jumper in the lane after a traveling call was overturned on Bava.  with :15 remaining, senior Calie Sobaski (Iowa City, Iowa/City) knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game for the sixth time.

Following the game-winning free throws by Queen, a desperation 3-point attempt by Anciaux fell just short.  The loss dropped the Kohawks below .500 in the conference.

Sobaski posted a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds, her first double-double as a Kohawk.  Anciaux and sophomore Brittany Norris (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) each added four assists.  Norris joined Sobaski as the only other Kohawk in double-figures with 12 points.  She also had three blocked shots.  Sophomore Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) swatted a game-high five blocked shots.

While the Kohawks were hot from the field in the first half, connecting on 55 percent of their shots, they went cold in the second half.  Coe could only manage six field goals, while shooting 29 percent from the field in the final frame.

Coe returns to action on Wednesday night as they travel to Linn County rival Cornell.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Mount Vernon.
