INDIANOLA, Iowa - Senior Kevin Dux (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) poured in a career-high 23 points in his final game, leading the Kohawks to a 78-74 win over Simpson Saturday.  Coe ended the season on a four-game winning streak.
It took 2:11 before either team could score before Simpson took a 4-0 lead.  The Storm led by as many as seven points in the first 10:23 of the game.  The Kohawks weren't able to take their first lead of the game until 1:35 into the second half when sophomore Alex Tatman (Humboldt, Iowa/Humboldt) hit a jumper in the lane.

With 4:31 to play in the game, freshman Kevin Gaster (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) hit a jumper that sparked a 10-0 Kohawk run, putting them in front by eight with 2:33 remaining.  Coe would never trail from that point on.  With :15 remaining, Tatman hit a pair of free throws to put the Kohawks up by three.  Following a missed 3-point basket by the Storm, Dux hit 1-of-2 free throws to seal the win for the Kohawks.

Along with his career-high 23 points, Dux connected on 6-of-7 3-point attempts after missing his first two of the game.  He also had three steals.  Freshman Jordan Cunningham (Mankato, Minn./East) and Tatman joined Dux in double-figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.  Tatman also added three steals.

Seniors Marc Gorenstein (Longmont, Colo./Silver Creek) and Christian Parent (Littleton, Colo./Littleton) added six and seven points respectively in their final games as a Kohawk.  Parent also added four assists, while Gorenstein pulled down five rebounds.

As a team, the Kohawks shot just 8-of-31 in the first half, before shooting 16 of 26 in the second half.  They also doubled their 3-point makes in the second half.  Simpson owned a 22-2 edge in fastbreak scoring and also in bench scoring, 46-24.

The Kohawks end the season 10-15 overall and 6-10 in the Iowa Conference.
