INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Coe women's basketball team jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first :40, but it wasn't enough as the nationally-ranked Storm rallied back for a 72-55 win Saturday.
The Kohawks hung with Simpson throughout the first half, as they tied the game seven times before Simpson took its final lead of the game with 5:18 to play in the first half.  Coe was able to cut the halftime lead of the Storm's to three points.

With 13:16 to play, the Kohawks tied the game for the ninth and final time.  Simpson went on a 21-5 run to put the game away.  With 1:43 to play, the Storm increased their lead to 20 points, the largest of the game.

Sophomore Kayla Lincoln (Maynard, Iowa/West Central) led the Kohawks with 14 points.  Senior Calie Sobaski (Iowa City, Iowa/City) and sophomore Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) added 12 and 11 points respectively.  Sobaski also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and blocked three shots, as Coe finished with 51 boards in the game.  Anciaucx also pulled down seven boards and blocked two shots.

Sophomore Devvin Rolston (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) grabbed six rebounds while stealing three passes.  Sophomore Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) dished out seven assists,

As a team, the Kohawks made 15 baskets in the first half, but were held to just six field goals in the second half.  Coe was 2-for-12 from 3-point range in the game, while the Storm were 8-of-14, including 7-of-12 in the first half.  The Storm scored 29 points off Coe's 27 turnovers and held a 15-2 advantage in fastbreak points.

The Kohawks return to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Dubuque for a first round Iowa Conference Tournament game with Loras.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.  The Duhawks won both regular season games with Coe.
