After falling to third-ranked Denison in the opening round, the Kohawks were faced with seventh-ranked Pomona-Pitzer from California.  The Sagehens improved to 3-1 on the season with an 8-1 victory over the Kohawks.  The doubles pair of senior Molly Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) and junior Andrea Schupbach (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) were the only victors for Coe, as they earned a 9-8 (7-3) decision at number one doubles. 

The Kohawks earned their most victories in the tournament in the seventh-place match against host Gustavus, but weren't able to come out on top, as they fell 6-3 to the 18th-ranked Golden Gusties.  Fiala and Schupbach picked up an 8-2 decision at number one doubles.  Fiala then followed that with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sierra Krebsbach at number one singles, while sophomore Hannah Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa/West) was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at number two singles.

Coe will return to action March 9 as they face St. Scholastica at 9 a.m. central time in Florida.
