SAINT LOUIS, Mo. - After delaying its season opener by a day, the Coe College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Washington University in St. Louis Sunday.  Coe fell 3-1 in the first game and 2-1 in eight innings in the nightcap.
Junior pitcher Cody Raisch (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning of the first game before the Bears opened the inning with back-to-back singles.  After a sacrifice bunt, the Bears drove in a run on a single and an infield sacrifice.

The Kohawks got one run back in he top of the sixth inning.  Junior Nick Robertson (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista) reached base on an error by the second baseman to start the inning.  Junior Pat Richmond (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) then singled up the middle to put two runners on base.

Robertson advanced to third as senior Tyler McAllister (Ursa, Ill./Mendon-Unity) grounded into a double-play.  After a walk by junior Ryan Schisler (Morrison, Ill./Morrison), sophomore Ryan Velvick (Swisher, Iowa/Prairie) singled down the left field line to drive in Robertson.

Richmond finished the first game 2-for-3 and was the only Kohawk to tally more than one hit.  Raisch struck out six and walked three in five innings pitched.  Senior Ryan Nicholson (Downers Grove, Ill./North) struck out one and walked one in one inning of relief work.

A 2-out passed ball let the Bears score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in the second game of the doubleheader.

A two-out single in the third inning drove in the Bears' first run of the game.  The Kohawks answered back in the sixth inning.  As Velvick reached on an error by the shortstop, Richmond scored on the play.
