SAINT PETER, Minn. - Junior Noah Sprinkel's (Minneapolis, Minn./South) run through the ITA Midwest Regional came to a close on Sunday morning, as Sprinkel dropped a three-set match in the semifinals.
In his last two matches, Sprinkel lost the first set before bouncing back to win the final two to advance in the tournament. Sixth-seeded Jake Humphrey's of Wisconsin-Whitewater downed Sprinkel 6-0 in the first set. Sprinkel bounced back to win the second set 6-3, but dropped the third and final set 6-3.
Humphreys went on to defeat ninth-seeded Jack Michael of Carroll 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 in the championship match.
The ITA Midwest Regional wraps up the fall season for the Kohawk men's tennis team. They will return to action Feb. 8, as they host Elmhurst and Monmouth in a pair of matches at Clark Racquet Center.
