ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The Coe College women's tennis team won its 15th match of the year on Tuesday over Trine, before dropping the nightcap to NCAA Division II's 15th-ranked Nova Southeastern.

Coe opened the day with an 8-1 win over Trine. The Kohawks took a 3-0 lead after doubles play. At number one doubles, Diannah Watson (Frisco, Texas/Lone Star) and Laura Birky (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) downed Marissa German and Lauren Schluerter 8-3. Watson also picked up a 7-6, 6-1 win over Schlueter at number two singles. At number two doubles, Tai Lucero (Odessa, Texas/Permian) and Elizabeth Hoffmann (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) defeated Lexi Mack and Erin Kwaske 8-1. 

The final doubles win came at number three, as Sarah Lasecki (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) and Tamara Washington (Corona, Calif./Norco) downed Allison Marley and Beck 8-0. Lasecki also picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win over German at number four singles, while Washington defeated Mack 6-1, 6-3 at number three singles. At number six singles, Rachel Schaefer (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) defeated Lexi Skeens 6-1, 6-1.

In the afternoon match, Nova Southeastern defeated the Kohawks 9-0. Nova Southeastern is currently ranked 15th in NCAA Division II and seventh in the ITA South Region.

The Kohawks return to action on Thursday for the final day of their spring trip. Coe will face Grand Valley State at 10 a.m. and Cedarville at 5:30 p.m., both times eastern. Both matches will be played at Sanlando Park.
