CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Sophomore Riley Galbraith (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) has been named the Iowa Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Galbraith went 3-1 in singles and 2-2 in doubles, with all three losses coming to NCAA Division I or II opponents. He posted one victory at number one singles -- a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ohio Northern's Josh Saunders -- and was 2-1 at number two singles, winning 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 over Eckerd's Nikita Valuiskikh, 6-4, 6-0 over Grand Valley State's Andrew Darrell before falling to Ryan Miller of Division I Presbyterian, 6-2, 6-3.
Playing number one doubles with Noah Sprinkel (Minneapolis, Minn./South), he posted victories over Ohio Northern (8-2) and Grand Valley State (8-6) and losses to Eckerd (8-3) and Presbyterian (8-7). Galbraith is now 14-3 in singles and 9-1 in his last 10. He also improved to 13-4 in doubles with Sprinkel.
The Kohawks return to action on Saturday with four matches in two locations, including two at the Clark Racquet Center.
