CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team rolled to four victories on Saturday at two different locations. Coe defeated Augustana, Wis.-Oshkosh and Buena Vista 9-0, while downing Grand View 8-1.

At number one doubles, Noah Sprinkel (Minneapolis, Minn./South) and Riley Galbraith (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), ranked 25th in the country, downed Bobby Brooks and Kevin Lewis 9-8. Sprinkel, ranked 21st in the country, also earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Brooks at number one singles. Galbraith also earned a singles victory, defeating Lewis 6-4, 6-3 at number two singles.

Coe picked up an 8-4 win at number two doubles, as Ryan Hickman (Hutchinson, Kan./Hutchinson) and Michael Janssen (Oshkosh, Wis./Lourdes) downed Aidan Sauberlich and Michael Gillespie. Hickman also picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gillespie at number three singles. Janssen earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jason Alexander at number five singles.

The final doubles win for Coe came at number three, as Sean Stokstad (Ramstein, Germany/Ramstein) and Mark Kroll (Castle Rock, Colo./Castle View) downed Matt Brooks and Alexander 8-2. Stokstad also picked up a 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 win over Sauberlich at number four singles, while Kroll downed Alex Yang 6-0, 6-4 at number six singles.

In the victory over Augustana, Sprinkel and Galbraith downed Andy Wall and Lawrence Palmer 8-4 at number one doubles. Sprinkel also defeated Palmer 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles, while Galbraith defeated Wall 6-0, 6-2 at number two singles. 

At number two doubles, Hickman and Janssen downed Colin Arnold and Kevin Bayles 9-8. Hickman downed Bayles 6-3, 6-0 at number three singles, while Janssen defeated Grand Wick 6-4, 6-3 at number five singles. Coe's final doubles win came at number three, as Stokstad and Kroll defeated Connor Woolf and Austin Schoeck 9-8. Stokstad was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Arnold at number four singles, while Kroll downed Woolf 7-6, 7-5 at number six singles.

Coe also won a pair of matches in Storm Lake, starting with a 9-0 win over Buena Vista in Iowa Conference play. At number one doubles, Alex Bernt (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) and Zack Decker (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake) defeated Christopher Haberman and Kyle Shade 9-7. Bernt also picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Haberman at number one singles, while Decker downed Shade 7-5, 7-5 at number two singles.

At number two doubles, Jeff Damisch (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) and Alex Leovic (Littleton, Colo./Littleton) defeated Drake Swanson and Kyle Weeden 8-5. Damisch also earned a 6-2, 7-5 win over Justin Buzzard at number three singles, while Leovic defeated John Bieber 6-4, 6-3 at number six singles. 

The final doubles win came at number three, as Alex Klaas (Douman, Wis./Catholic Memorial) and Daken Starkenburg (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) downed Buzzard and Bieber 8-2. Klaas was also a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Swanson at number five singles, while Starkenburg downed Weeden 6-2, 6-4 at number four singles.

In the middle match in Storm Lake, Coe defeated Grand View 8-1. Coe led 2-1 after doubles play, as Damisch and Leovic downed Ryan Gilbert and Tyler Johnson 8-6 at number two doubles. Damisch also defeated Johnson 6-2, 6-1 at number three singles, while Leovic downed Luke Norris 6-2, 6-3 at number six singles.

At number three doubles, Klaas and Starkenburg defeated Phil Kruzan and Diego Novoa 8-5. Klaas was also a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Gilbert at number five singles, while Starkenburg downed Kruzan 6-7, 6-2, 10-3 at number four singles. Coe also picked up singles wins at one and two. At number one singles, Bernt downed Anthony Forcucci 2-6, 6-1, 10-8, while Decker defeated Jordan Feige 6-2, 2-6, 11-9 at number two singles.

The Kohawks improved to 15-3 with the four victories. Coe will return to action next Saturday, as they travel to St. Peter, Minn. to take on Gustavus. The match is scheduled to start at Noon.
