STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team shaved 20 strokes off its team score on Saturday, as they placed 13th at the Buena Vista Invite.  The Kohawks were 16th after the first day.Senior Nolan Schmelzer (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) led the Kohawks with a 14th place finish.  Schmelzer shot a first round 76, followed by a 72 on Saturday.  Junior Rob Copeland (Davenport, Iowa/Assumption) was 49th with a 156.  Copeland took two strokes off his Friday score on Saturday.

The Kohawks saw big improvements at the three and four spots, as they shaved a combined 21 strokes off their scores.  Sophomore Brad Downen (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) shot a first round 85, followed by a 79 on Saturday.  Senior Nate Feldman (Jewel, Iowa/South Hamilton) made the biggest improvement on Saturday.  Feldman shot a 91 Friday, but followed it with a 76 on Saturday.

As a team, the Kohawks shot a 628 and placed 13th.  Luther won the meet with a 585.
