INDIANOLA, Iowa - After finishing the first three days of the tournament in sixth place, the Kohawks moved to fifth on the final day of the Iowa Conference Championships. Sophomore

(Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) earned All-Iowa Conference honors with a fifth place finish.The Kohawks slowly took over the fifth place spot from Buena Vista over the four-day, two-weekend event. Coe finished with a 1257, while the Beavers shot a 1269. Central won the event with a 21 stroke lead over Luther.
Downen
shot a 73 Saturday to remain in fifth place, earning All-Iowa Conference honors for the first time. He shot a 301 overall, just one stroke behind Mark Dolphin from Loras.
Junior
Rob Copeland
(Davenport, Iowa/Assumption) tied for 13th with a 313. Rounding out the Kohawks, returning All-Iowa Conference member
Nolan Schmelzer (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) finished 21st with a 316, while senior
Nate Feldman (Jewel, Iowa/South Hamilton) finished tied for 30th with a 333.
As
a
team, the Kohawks shot their two best rounds of the tournament in the last weekend.
Coe's 304 on Friday was the fourth best team score of the round.
