PELLA, Iowa - Senior
Holly Rader (Sumner, Iowa/Sumner) automatically qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the hammer throw, while two other Kohawks provisionally qualified for the championships.Rader tossed a 53.33 meter throw in the hammer to automatically qualify. Her throw also broke the Iowa Conference record.
Freshman
Keelie Finnell (Francis Creek, Wis./Mishicot) provisionally qualified in the 400-meter run. Her time of 56.88 placed her fourth. She also placed fifth in the 200-meter run in 25.96.
Sophomore
Sarah Anciaux (Iowa City, Iowa/City) provisionally qualified in two events during the Iowa Conference Championships. Her throw of 39.21 meters in the javelin placed her second and provisionally qualified her for nationals. She also earned a provisional in the discus with a throw of 42.95 meters, placing fifth. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.87 meters.
Coe earned two championships on the day, both coming from sophomore
Ashley Schnell (Lincoln, Neb./North Star). Her time of 2:14.65 in the 800-meter run and 4:51.04 in the 1,500-meter run took home first place honors.
Sophomore
Alisa Denny rounded out the Kohawks top five finishes with a fifth place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.15. The 4x100-meter relay team placed fourth in 49.84 for the Kohawks.
As a team, the Kohawks placed sixth with 74 points.
