CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The NCAA Division III Softball National Runner-Up Kohawk softball team received one final honor on the year.  The Coe softball team was ranked second in the final NFCA National Coaches Poll.The Kohawks were one of four teams from the Iowa Conference to make the NCAA Regional Championships and finish ranked in the final poll.  Central, the regular season Iowa Conference Champion, was 10th, while Luther was 19th and Wartburg 23rd.

Coe will return nine players that started over 21 games each this year.  In that group of returnees will be seniors Chelsea Zaugg (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) and Abby Wedemeier (Maynard, Iowa/West Central), along with sophomore Ashlee Simon (Riverside, Iowa/Highland).  Zaugg and Simon were named to the All-Central Region team, while they both joined Wedemeier on the All-Iowa Conference team.  Coe also returns the services of Iowa Conference Coach of the Year Bob Timmons.
