GALESBURG, Ill. - On its first road trip of the season, the Coe men's soccer team returned to Cedar Rapids a winner.  The Kohawks led 1-0 at halftime, while scoring three more goals in the second half for the 4-0 win.Sophomore David Schmitz (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) scored his first two goals of the season, one in each half, to lead the Kohawks.  His first goal, at 26:15, was assisted by Tom Wakeland (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) on a long shot to the top left corner.  The second goal by Schmitz came less than 10 minutes into the second half as Eddie Knebel (Iowa City, Iowa/City) found Schmitz for the open shot.

Just over a minute later, Wakeland earned his second assist of the game, as he hooked up with Knebel for the Kohawks third goal of the game.  Joel Opolka (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) capped things for the Kohawks, as he scored the fourth and final goal, with an assist from Pat Montag (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), at the 78:29 mark.

Wesley Beckwith (Fort Lupton, Colo./Weld Central) earned the win in the net, as he came away with three saves in the net.

The Kohawks return to action on Monday morning, as they host Puget Sound.  The match is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. at Clark Field.
