CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - After earning a season-opening win over Augustana, the Coe College football team was well represented on the Iowa Conference weekly awards slate.  Brad Boyle (New Sharon, Iowa/North Mahaska) was named the Iowa Conference Offensive player of the week.  Boyle, a sophomore quarterback, was 25-for-32 for 207 yards and a touchdown in Coe's 9-7 season-opening win over Augustana (Ill.). The 25 completions rank fifth-most in school history for a single game. He also tallied a game-high 16 carries for 16 yards.

Fred Mitchell Award watch list member Elliot Rausa (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) was tabbed as the Iowa Conference Special Teams player of the week.  Rausa, a junior kicker, was 1-for-2 on field goal attempts, making a 26-yarder with 11:52 to play in the game, to provide what ended up being the winning points. He also assisted on a tackle.

New for the 2009 season, the Iowa Conference will honor an offensive, defensive and special teams player each week.

The Kohawks return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Gustavus.  The 1 p.m. kickoff will be the season opener for the Golden Gusties.
