IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team cut 13 strokes off its first round score on Saturday, as the Kohawks shot a 324 in the second round of the Iowa Conference Championships.
Hunter Livermore (Atkins, Iowa/Benton Community) led the way for the Kohawks, as he shot a 75 in the second round. With a 155 in the first two rounds, Livermore is tied for 12th. Jason Gingrich (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) cut four strokes off his first round score, as he shot an 81 on Saturday. Gingrich is in 29th with a 166 after the first two rounds.
Wade Hill (Monroe, Iowa/Prairie City-Monroe) is tied for 34th with a 171 over the two days after he shot an 85 on Saturday. Anthony Worden (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) shot an 83 on Saturday, cutting six strokes off his opening round score. Worden is a stroke behind Hill, as he is 36th with a 172. Seth Inman (Vinton, Iowa/Vinton-Shellsburg) rounded out the scoring for the Kohawks, as he shot an 89 on Saturday. Inman is in 38th with a 175 over the two days.
Coe remains in seventh after the first two rounds. The Kohawks shot a 324 on Saturday, 13 strokes better than Friday. Coe has a 661 over the two days and sits 13 strokes behind Loras for sixth, while holding an 11 stroke lead over Buena Vista. Luther leads the team race with a 602. Luther's Elliot Horst and Simpson's Trent Lindenman are tied for first with a 146.
The third round of the Iowa Conference Championships begins on Friday in Decorah. First tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
