CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - In its final non-conference match of the fall season, the Coe women's tennis team improved to 7-0 with an 8-1 win over Carthage. Coe has one final dual match left of the fall season.Junior
Hannah Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa/West) earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Gina Klein at number one singles. She also teamed with
Megan Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) for an 8-5 win over Ashley Morgan and Amanda Bizub at number three doubles.
After winning the first set 6-2, senior
Andrea Schupbach (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) won by injury default over Beth Kaufman at number two singles. She also paired with her sister,
Michelle Schupbach (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus), for an 8-3 win over Klein and Hollis McPeek at number one doubles.
Michelle Schupbach was also a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Kristinia Naidicz at number four singles.
Katy Delagardelle (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) and
Sara Ohlman (Washington, Ill./Washington) earned wins for the Kohawks at five and six singles. Delagardelle was a 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 winner over Morgan, while Ohlman took a 4-6, 6-0, 10-2 win from Stephanie Zundl.
The Kohawks will return to action Sept. 25-27 as they travel to St. Peter, Minn. for the ITA Midwest Regional.
