ST. PETER, Iowa - Two singles players and all three doubles teams are still alive at the 2009 ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by Gustavus.  Both singles players, and one doubles team, are seeded in the top five at the tournament.Junior Katy Delagardelle (Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus) lost a 3-6, 6-4, 9-11 decision to fifth seeded Rachel Tiegs of St. Benedicts in the opening round.  Fourth-seeded Hannah Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa/West) was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Mary Roop of Gustavus in the first round.

Senior Hillary Allen (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) was a 6-4, 6-3 victor over Kristina Naidicz of Carthage in the first round.  The second Coe loss also came at the hands of seeded player, as freshman Michelle Schupbach (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by third-seeded Sierra Krebsbach of Gustavus.  Fifth-seeded senior Andrea Schupbach (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) took a 7-5, 6-3 win from Hannah Perwin of Beloit in the opening round.

In the second round, Jensen was a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 winner over Rebeca Snyder of St. Mary's.  Allen suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss to ninth-seeded Allie Hinman of Wisconsin-Stout, while Andrea Schupbach was a 7-5, 6-3 winner of Erin Gudul of Carleton.

Jensen will face Ali Oneal of Gustavus in the third round, while Andrea Schupbach will face Sam Frank, also of Gustavus.  Third round and quarterfinal action will be played on Saturday.

In doubles play, Allen and Delagardelle were 8-5 winners over Sarah Schoenwalder and Carly Buhrman of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.  The third-seeded Schupbach sisters were 8-3 winners over Allison Bruflodt and Alex Frank of St. Thomas.  Jensen and senior Megan Fiala (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) finished doubles play with a 8-5 win over Kendra Ackland and Michaela Burroughs of St. Catherine.
