DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe women's golf team will enter the final day of the Iowa Conference Championships in sixth place, while they are in a heated battle for fifth place. Buena Vista, Coe and Loras are all within four strokes of each other.The Kohawks entered the day in fifth place, after shooting back-to-back 354's on the first weekend, but a 385 to open the second weekend propeled the Beavers into fifth place. Buena Vista shot a 374, while Loras gained ground on the Kohawks by shooting a 371.
Senior
Caitlin Johnson (Parker, Colo./Douglas County) leads the way for the Kohawks with a 266, which placed her 20th in the 43-player field. Senior
Jackie Lerdal (New London, Iowa/New London) had a round-best 90 for the Kohawks, as she sits in 22nd place with an overall score of 267.
Junior
Kristi Bonder (Monroe, Iowa/PCM) shot a 92, as she sits in 28th overall.
Courtney Williams (Roanoke, Texas/Northwest) and
Erin Rowan (Naperville, Ill./North) round out the Kohawks scorers in 32nd and 35th places.
The final round of the tournament is tomorrow, with Rowan teeing off first for the Kohawks at 9:08 a.m. Williams follows at 9:24 a.m. with Boner shooting at 9:32 a.m. Lerdal and Johnson will be the final two to tee off for the Kohawks at 9:48 a.m. and 9:56 a.m.
