ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Coe College cross country teams competed at the Brissmann-Lundeen Invite Friday night, hosted by Augustana College.
Mareena Franke (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) led the Kohawk women with a 35th place finish, as she crossed in 25:25.2. McKayla Morris (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) was just behind Franke, finishing 41st in 25:46.9. Holly Wisnousky (Fairfax, Iowa/Prairie) was 54th in 26:11.3, while Maddie Bain (Kingsley, Iowa/Woodbury Central) crossed in 26:43.6 to finish 78th. Katalina Stai (Winona, Minn./Winona) was 110th in 28:03.1, while Kelsie Coates (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) crossed in 28:30.2 to finish 123rd.
The Kohawk women finished eighth in the gold division with 285 points. Iowa Central won with 71 points, while Iowa Central's Agnes Mansaray won in 22:46.3.
Nathan Haerr (Fairfield, Iowa/Fairfield) led the way for the Kohawk men, as he finished 93rd in 27:09.9. Derek Dinderman (Palo, Iowa/Vinton-Shellsburg) was 125th in 27:34.0, while McCoy Meshach (Pacific, Mo./Pacific) was 172nd in 28:13.6. Ryan Izer (Lawler, Iowa/Turkey Valley) was 188th in 28:27.8, while Beau Freeborn (New Sharon, Iowa/North Mahaska) was 214th in 28:47.2.
The Kohawk men finished 20th in the gold division with 575 points. Lindenwood won with 78 points, while Wisconsin-Whitewater's Brett Harms took top honors in 25:08.2.
Coe returns to action Oct. 8, as they host the Lamb-Kohawk Invitational. The women's meet begins at 10 a.m., with the men's meet to follow.
