SAINT PETER, Minn. - Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian) and Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) advanced to the finals of the ITA Midwest Region Doubles Tournament on Sunday.
The top Kohawk pair opened the day with a big semifinal victory. After defeating the defending champions of the tournament on Saturday, French and Resnick took down Carthage's Max Mella and Angelica Emmanouil 8-5. Mella and Emmanouil entered as the number two seed of the tournament. In the championship match, the Coe duo was matched against the top-seeded pair from Wisconsin-Whitewater in Megan Humphreys and Gabi Kitchell. The Warhawk pair won the match 7-6, 6-0 to advance to the ITA National Doubles Championships.
Coe returns to action on Wednesday, as the Kohawks travel to Wartburg. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in Waverly.
