DECORAH, Iowa - In a tight three-way race for fifth place, the Coe women's golf team pulled ahead on the final day of the Iowa Conference Championships for a fifth-place finish. Coe improved 22 strokes from Friday to Saturday in the tournament.Coe shot a 1,456 for the tournament, surpassing Buena Vista and Loras on the final day for fifth place. The Kohawks had held fifth place after the first weekend of the tournament, but the Beavers passed Coe on Friday.
Senior
Jackie Lerdal (New London, Iowa/New London) led the Kohawks with a 17th-place finish. Her round of 82 on Saturday was the best round by any Kohawk in the tournament. Senior
Caitlin Johnson (Parker, Colo./Douglas County) joined Lerdal in the top-20 with a 19th-place finish. Her round of 85 Saturday was her second best of the round, as she finished with a 351.
Junior
Kristi Bonder (Monroe, Iowa/PCM) shot a 96, finishing 28th overall.
Courtney Williams (Roanoke, Texas/Northwest) and
Erin Rowan (Naperville, Ill./North) round out the Kohawks scorers in 32nd and 36th places.
