WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College women's golf team had the fourth best round on Friday, as the Kohawks sit in sixth place entering the final day of the Iowa Conference Championships.
Erin Lang (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) led the way for the Kohawks, as she shot an 87. Lang is currently in 13th place with a 253 for the tournament. Lang sits three strokes out of 10th place, which would earn her All-Iowa Conference honors with a 10th place or better finish. Jade Hess (Fonda, Iowa/Newell-Fonda) shot a 91, as she is in 23rd with a 272 for the tournament.
Colleen Zuk (Kansas City, Mo./Bishop Miege) shot a 102 on Friday, as she is in 26th with a 277 over the first three days. Bethany Lehman (Plainfield, Iowa/Nashua Plainfield) is in 29th place after shooting a 93 on Friday. Lehman has a 285 for the tournament. Chloe Crain (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola) rounded out the lineup for the Kohawks, as she shot a 98 on Friday. Crain is tied for 30th with a 289 for the tournament.
Coe is in sixth with a 1,082 for the tournament, nine strokes behind Nebraska Wesleyan for fifth. Coe holds a 41-stroke lead over Loras for seventh. Wartburg leads Central by a stroke for the team lead. Wartburg's Rochelle Beardsley leads the individual race with a 233. The final round begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly.
