CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coe College and Nebraska Wesleyan went toe-to-toe for nearly 103 minutes on Saturday before the Kohawks scored the lone goal of the match in the second overtime.
The first half was scoreless, as Nebraska Wesleyan held a 5-4 advantage in shots in the opening frame. Neither team could push a goal through in the second half, while Coe held a 9-4 advantage in shots. In the second overtime, Jordan Holmes (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) scored her first goal of the year in the 103rd minute from less than five yards out on the left side.
Kelsey Fauser (New Castle, Colo./Coal Ridge) and Morgan Petsche (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) led the Kohawks with three shots apiece, while Holmes and Gabby Lancial (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Lewis Central) added two shots apiece.
