DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Coe College cross country teams had their final tune-up before the Iowa Conference Championships on Friday, as the Kohawks competed at the Dr. Tucker Invite.
Derek Dinderman (Palo, Iowa/Vinton-Shellsburg) led the Kohawk men, as he finished 24th in 28:09.8. Ryan Izer (Lawler, Iowa/Turkey Valley) was just behind Dinderman, finishing in 28:12.5 to place 26th. Nathan Haerr (Fairfield, Iowa/Fairfield) also earned a top 30 spot, as he was 30th in 28:36.9. Orie Brown (Belle Plaine, Iowa/Belle Plaine) was 38th in 28:52.4, while Beau Freeborn (New Sharon, Iowa/North Mahaska) finished 40th in 28:54.9.
The Kohawk men were fourth with 130 points. Loras won the title with 22 points. Mason Tope from Loras won top individual honors in 25:44.8.
Mareena Franke (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) led the Kohawk women with a 10th place finish in 24:42.6. McKayla Morris (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) joined Franke in the top 20, as she was 19th in 25:42.3. Holly Wisnousky (Fairfax, Iowa/Prairie) was 31st in 26:18.8. Maddie Bain (Kingsley, Iowa/Woodbury Central) was 34th in 26:36.4, while Katalina Stai (Winona, Minn./Winona) was just behind Bain in 35th place in 26:40.8.
Coe was fifth in the women's race with 110 points. Loras won with 31 points. Audrey Miller from Loras won the women's race in 22:11.9.
The Kohawks return to action on Oct. 29 at the Iowa Conference Championships in Storm Lake. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m. with the men to follow at 11:45 a.m.
