CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Five Coe College women's tennis players earned a total of eight spots on the All-Iowa Conference Singles and Doubles teams.
The Kohawks tied for a league-best with four All-Iowa Conference Singles selections. Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian), Sarah Lasecki (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), Haruki Omoto (Setagaya-ku, Japan/Waseda University) and Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) were all selected to the singles team. It was the first time being selected for French and Omoto, while it as the second selection for Lasecki. It is the third-straight year that Resnick has been selected.
Kaitlin Fosler (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X), French, Lasecki and Resnick were all named to the All-Iowa Conference Doubles team. Coe's four selections were tied for the most in the league. It was the first time Fosler and French have been named to the team, while it was the third-straight year that Lasecki and Resnick have been named.
French went 14-2 in singles play, including 8-0 in the Iowa Conference. Lasecki was also undefeated in league play at 7-0, while she was 10-2 in singles in the fall. Omoto was 10-3 in singles and 4-1 in the Iowa Conference. Resnick went 12-4 in singles play and 6-1 in the Iowa Conference. The Kohawks had a 41-7 singles record in league play this fall.
Resnick led the Kohawks with a 15-3 doubles record in the fall, including 7-1 in the Iowa Conference. French was 14-3 with a 6-1 league record. Fosler went 13-5 in doubles play, while tallying a 7-1 league record. Lasecki was 12-5 in doubles play, including a 6-1 league record. The Kohawks had a 21-3 record as a team in doubles in Iowa Conference play.
The Kohawks (9-1, 7-1 IIAC) return to play this spring. Coe will host Kalamazoo in the spring opener on Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. at the Clark Racquet Center.
