NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Coe College cross country teams turned in multiple personal best on Saturday, as the Kohawks closed the season at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Mareena Franke (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) led the Kohawk women, as she finished 106th in 24:36.2. Her time was the ninth best by a sophomore in school history. Maddie Bain (Kingsley, Iowa/Woodbury Central) closed out her collegiate career with a 164th place finish in 26:04.8. McKayla Morris (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) was 166th in 26:10.6, while Katalina Stai (Winona, Minn./Winona) was 168th in 26:14.3. Katie Guinane (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) rounded out the scoring for the Kohawks, as she was 185th in 27:19.3.
The Kohawk women finished 26th in the 32 team field with 789 points. St. Olaf won the team title with 91 points, while Loras' Audrey Miller won the individual title in 21:19.9, a :16 advantage over second place.
Nathan Haerr (Fairfield, Iowa/Fairfield) led the Kohawk men with a 54th place finish in 26:36.4. His time was the ninth best by a junior in school history and the 11th best by a Kohawk at an NCAA Regional Championship. Ryan Izer (Lawler, Iowa/Turkey Valley) was 121st in 27:44.4, while Beau Freeborn (New Sharon, Iowa/North Mahaska) was 133rd in 28:07.3. Orie Brown (Belle Plaine, Iowa/Belle Plaine) was 138th in 28:15.3, while Derek Dinderman (Palo, Iowa/Vinton-Shellsburg) rounded out the Kohawk scoring with a 143rd place finish in 28:25.6.
Coe was 23rd in the 30 team field with 589 points. Loras won the team title with 101 points, while Loras' Mason Tope took the top individual honors in 25:16.3.
