CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Senior Gavin Glenn (Adel, Iowa/ADM) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team. Glenn is one of 10 players from the Iowa Conference selected to the team.
Glenn had a record-setting year for the Kohawks at quarterback. The Kohawks finished 10-0 in the regular season record and the outright Iowa Conference Championship. Coe College advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the third time in school history.
Glenn tossed 27 touchdown passes on the year, the most in school history. He also ranked fourth in passing efficiency (152.86) and tied for the fifth most completions in school history (192).
With 2,589 yards passing, Glenn ranked seventh in school history. He also had the eighth best completion percentage (60.6) in school history. Nationally, Glenn was 18th in the nation in passing efficiency. He ranked 22nd in the nation in yards per pass attempt and 27th in the nation in completion percentage.
Glenn finished his career ranked fourth in school history with a 146.9 career pass efficiency rating, while also ranking fifth in school history with a 60.1 career pass completion percentage. He ranks ninth in school history in career completions (253), passing yards (3,292) and passing touchdowns (33).
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have the proper athletic accomplishments to be placed on the ballot. The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. With his selection to the first team, Glenn is eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American team, which will be released on Nov. 29. Glenn is a Public Accounting major.
