CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - For the third-straight year, a Coe women's tennis doubles team has taken home the top prize in the Flight A Doubles Tournament.  This time, it was the Schupbach sisters (Andrea and Michelle) that went undefeated for the title. After winning quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Friday, the sisters defeated Lindstrom and Fairfield of Luther 8-3 in the championship match.  Both players advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals of the Flight A singles tournament, but were defeated in tiebreakers.  Michelle lost a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (7) decision to top-seeded Kelsie Allen of Luther.  Allen went on to win the singles title. Andrea lost a 6-4, 6-7(3), 1-0 (2) decision to Fran Fairfield of Luther.  Fairfield then lost a three-set match to Allen in the semifinals.

The Kohawks other quarterfinalist, Hannah Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa/West) was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Luther's Brynne Zinnecker.  She then defeated Wartburg's Molly Eslick 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the championship match against Allen.  After winning the first set 6-0, Jensen lost the second set 1-0 before falling 10-6 in the tiebreaker.
