LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Hanna Reese (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) has been named an AVCA All-American, becoming the fourth Kohawk in school history to be named to one of the teams.
Reese was named to the honorable mention team. It is the third-straight year a Kohawk has earned All-American honors by the AVCA. Reese is one of just two players from the Iowa Conference to earn the award, as Wartburg's Aryn Jones was also an honorable mention choice.
With a career-high 1,163 assists, Reese ranked 35th in the nation and fourth in the central region. She also ranked 68th in the nation in assists per set and eighth in the region. She was 19th in the country in triple doubles and third in the central region.
Reese ranked third in school history with 518 service attempts this year. Her 1,163 assists were the eighth most in school history, while her 9.3 assists per set were the 10th best in school history. Reese finishes her career with 1,246 assists, the fifth most in program history. Reese had a career-high 49 assists against Luther and Lake Forest this season. She also had a career-high 10 kills against Northwestern, who advanced to the Final Four.
The Kohawks finished the season with a 23-11 overall record and 5-3 record in Iowa Conference play, as Coe finished third in the standings. In the Iowa Conference Tournament, Coe beat Buena Vista in the quarterfinals before knocking off second-seeded Luther in the semifinals. Top-seeded Wartburg beat Coe 3-1 in the championship match.
