CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A late Kohawk goal ended a 30-match unbeaten streak by Wartburg Wednesday afternoon, as Coe upset the undefeated Knights.  It was the first loss of the year for the eighth-ranked team in the country.

The two teams were scoreless until the 81st minute when freshman Jenny Snook (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) dropped a pass just over the midline to junior Justine Screws (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson). Screws scored her fourth goal of the season with a header, putting the Kohawks in position to score the upset. It was the fourth assist of the year for Snook.

It was the first time in 51-matches the Knights had been shut out, while it was their first loss since Sept. 14, 2008 when Washington University-St. Louis defeated them 4-1.

As a team, the Knights outshot the Kohawks 18-2, with the Kohawks goal being the lone shot on goal for Coe. Senior Erin Ridley (St. Paul, Minn./Convant of the Visitation) recorded nine saves in the match.

The Kohawks return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Central. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in Pella, where the Kohawks will try to clinch their first Iowa Conference Tournament berth since 2003.
