ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The Coe College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Wheaton College in the final match of the spring trip to Florida.
In doubles play, Coe's only victory came at number one. Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian) and Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) beat Emily Jones and Kirstie White 8-1. In singles play, Coe had just one win as well. French picked up the lone victory at number two singles, as she beat Miranda Kay 6-4, 6-4.
The match featured a pair of teams ranked in the ITA Central Region rankings. Wheaton entered the match ranked 13th in the region, while the Kohawks are ranked 20th in the region.
Coe (12-4) returns to action on March 25, as the Kohawks head to St. Louis for a pair of matches with Webster and Washington University in St. Louis. Coe will face the Gorloks at 8 a.m., followed by the Bears at 12 p.m.
