Kohawks are ranked for the first time since week 7 of the 2006 season.
WACO, Texas - With its 8-1 overall record, the Coe football team has entered the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll for the first time in over three years. The Kohawks are ranked 22nd in this week's poll.Coming off a 31-20 road win at Buena Vista, the Kohawks earned 117 votes to become one of four new schools to enter the Top 25 this week. Ohio Northern (21st), Kean (24th, and California Lutheran (25th) are also new to the poll this week.
Defending National Champion Mount Union is first in the poll with its 9-0 record. Central, the only team to beat Coe this season, is ranked fifth. The Dutch finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record en route to the Iowa Conference title.
The Kohawks will host Cornell Saturday in the regular season finale for both teams. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Clark Field.
