WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team shot a 324 on Saturday, as the Kohawks finished seventh at the Wartburg Invite at Prairie Links Golf Course.
Hunter Livermore (Atkins, Iowa/Benton Community) shot a 78 on Saturday, as he tied for 12th with a 153 for the two days. Jason Gingrich (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) shot a season-low 75 in the second round, as his 155 for the two days put him in a tie for 17th.
Yudai Hirano (Japan) shot an 85 on Saturday, as he finished tied for 29th with a 159. Wade Hill (Monroe, Iowa/Prairie City-Monroe) cut a stroke off his first round score in the second round, as he shot an 83 Saturday to finished tied for 45th with a 167. Anthony Worden (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) also tied for 45th with a 167 after shooting an 86 on Saturday. Jake Van Oort (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) rounded out the scoring for the Kohawks, as his 86 on Saturday put him in 54th with a 170 for the two days.
Kirkwood won the team title with a 598, holding a 12-stroke advantage over Wisconsin-Stout. The Kohawks were seventh with a 634 for the two days, sitting three strokes behind Simpson and four strokes behind Carleton. Kirkwood's Max Thune won the individual title with a 147 for the two rounds.
The Kohawks return to action on Monday at the Simpson Invite. Action begins at 11 a.m. at the Indianola Country Club in Indianola.
