PEOSTA, Iowa - Coe College cut three strokes off its first round score on Sunday, as the Kohawk women's golf team finished fifth at the Loras Invite.
Bethany Lehman (Plainfield, Iowa/Nashua Plainfield) led the way for the Kohawks, as she shot a 94 on Sunday. After cutting two strokes off her first round score, Lehman finished 24th with a 190 for the two days. Erin Lang (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) shot a 97 for the second-straight day, as she finished 27th with a 194.
Jade Hess (Fonda, Iowa/Newell-Fonda) was just behind Lang, as she shot a 92 on Sunday to finish 28th with a 195. Hess cut 11 strokes off her first round score. Chloe Crain (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola) shot a 105 on Sunday, as she tied for 31st with a 200 for the event. Kylie Bustad (Granger, Iowa/Woodward-Granger) rounded out the scoring for the Kohawks, as her 110 on Sunday put her in a tie for 36th with a 219 for the invite.
The Kohawks finished fifth with a 779, just a stroke behind Clarke for fourth. Coe had a 54-stroke lead over Loras for sixth. Wartburg won the team title with a 674, while Wartburg's Rochelle Beardsley won the individual title with a 158.
Coe returns to action on Thursday at the Simpson Invite in Indianola.
