CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team fired a 312 on Friday, as the Kohawks beat Wartburg in a dual at Elmcrest Country Club.
Hunter Livermore (Atkins, Iowa/Benton Community) led the way for the Kohawks, as he shot a 73 to finish first. His 73 is a season-low, while his three-over par is the second lowest by a Kohawk this season. Livermore had a pair of birdies for the day, coming on the sixth and 17th holes. Jason Gingrich (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) tied for second with a 78. Gingrich had a birdie on the seventh hole. Anthony Worden (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) shot a season-low, as he finished with an 80 to place fifth. Worden closed out his round with a birdie on the 15th and 18th holes.
Wade Hill (Monroe, Iowa/Prairie City-Monroe) and Jake Van Oort (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) tied for sixth, as they both shot an 81. Hill had a birdie on the fifth hole. Yudai Hirano (Japan) rounded out the scoring for the Kohawks, as he tied for ninth with an 84.
Coe shot a 312, while Wartburg shot a 324. Of the nine birdies on the course Friday, six came from the Kohawks.
The Kohawks return to action on Tuesday, as they travel to the Loras Invite.
