DES MOINES, Iowa - The Coe College track and field teams wrapped up the weekend at the Jim Duncan Invite hosted by Drake University.
Cassie Hocker (Fort Madison, Iowa/Fort Madison) finished second in the 100-meter dash in 12.62, finishing only behind a runner from NCAA Division I Drake. Carlyn Cole (Baldwin City, Kansas/Baldwin) was eighth in the 100-meter dash, as she finished in 13.33. Amanda Brummet (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) finished ninth in the 200-meter dash in 26.46, while she finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in 59.43.
Landon Kraus (Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque Senior) was 10th in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.51. Coe's 4x100-meter relay team of Cole, Kyna Smith (Baldwin City, Kan./Baldwin), Brummet and Hocker finished third in 49.36. Chris Hawkins (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius) was second in the long jump at 22' 11" (6.98m). Jacob Hayes (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) was fifth in the discus at 140' 1" (42.69m), while Robbie Peters (Mount Vernon, Iowa/Mount Vernon) was eighth at 131' 8" (40.14m). Peters was fourth in the hammer throw at 170' 5" (51.94m). Kassandra Bain (Kingsley, Iowa/Woodbury Central) finished seventh in the javelin throw at 92' 9" (28.28m). In the shot put, Tieranny Keahna (Tama, Iowa/South Tama) was fifth at 38' 10 1/2" (11.85m) and Madison Arechiga (Houston, Texas/Jersey Village) was ninth at 35' 3" (10.74m).
The Kohawks return to action on Saturday, as they host the Rittgers Invite. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at Clark Track & Field. A link to live results will be available at CoeAthletics.com.
