CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Four Kohawks went 2-0 Saturday, as the Coe College women's tennis team beat Wisconsin-Oshkosh 7-2 at the Clark Racquet Center.
At number one doubles, Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) and Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian) beat Bailey Sagen and Hannah Peters 8-3. The win was the 70th career doubles victory for Resnick. At number two doubles, Kaitlin Fosler (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) and Sarah Lasecki (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) downed Alyssa Leffler and Samantha Koppa 8-4.
Resnick moved into a tie for ninth on the career singles wins list with 56 with her 6-4, 6-3 win over Sagen at number one singles. French defeated Leffler 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles. With the win, French moved into a tie for fifth in school history in single-season singles wins with 25 and total wins in a season at 49. At number three singles, Lasecki beat Peters 6-0, 6-0, as she moved into a tie for ninth in total wins in her career with 122. Fosler was a 6-4, 6-7, 10-3 winner over Lesley Kutnink at number four singles, while Ella White (Roseville, Minn./St. Anthony Village) closed the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Monica Micoliczyk at number six singles.
The Kohawks (15-9) return to action on Saturday, as they host St. Norbert (18-11). The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Clark Racquet Center.
