TEMPE, Ariz. - The Coe College men's tennis team is ranked 38th in the latest Oracle/ITA Men's Tennis National Top 40 Poll. It is the 20th-straight poll the Kohawks have been ranked in.
The Kohawks have been ranked in every poll since the final poll of the 2014 season. At 22-4 overall and 7-0 in the IIAC this season, all four of Coe's losses are to teams currently ranked in the top 25 in the nation.
A pair of Kohawks were ranked in the individual national rankings from Nov. 1, as Brady Anderson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) is ranked 32nd and Alex Bernt (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) is ranked 48th. In the latest regional rankings, Coe is ranked seventh as a team. Anderson moved up a spot in the individual regional rankings to sixth. Luke Ford (Otsego, Mich./Otsego) and Josh Pudlo (Lakewood, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) are ranked 11th in the region in doubles. The next set of team national rankings comes out April 27, while the next singles and doubles national rankings comes out June 1. The next set of regional team, singles and doubles rankings comes out April 27.
Winners of 10-straight matches, and 35-straight Iowa Conference regular season matches, the Kohawks (22-4, 7-0 IIAC) will play for the Iowa Conference regular season title on Saturday when they welcome Luther (15-4, 5-0 IIAC) to town. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Clark Racquet Center.
