LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For the eighth-straight week, the Coe College softball team is ranked in the NFCA Top 25 Poll. The Kohawks moved up to 10th this week.
The Kohawks are 27-6 on the season and one of three Iowa Conference schools ranked in the poll. Luther remained at fourth this week, while Central also held its spot at 12th. The Kohawks own wins over fourth-ranked Luther, 10th-ranked St. John Fisher, 12th-ranked Central and 13th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater. Three of Coe's losses have come to teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation. In the first set of NCAA Regional Rankings, the Kohawks are ranked second in the region behind Luther. Central is ranked third in the region.
Coe ranks ninth in the nation with a 1.32 Earned Run Average. Coe's .818 winning percentage ranks 15th in the country, while the Kohawks also rank 13th in the nation with 2.76 stolen bases per game. Mallory McArtor (Riverside, Iowa/Mid-Prairie) ranks 15th in the nation with .94 stolen bases per game, while Haley Jones (Waterloo, Iowa/West) ranks 32nd with seven home runs. Maliah Fligg (Tiffin, Iowa/Clear Creek-Amana) ranks 18th in the nation with 14 victories.
The 10th-ranked Kohawks (27-6, 9-3 IIAC) return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Wartburg (19-11, 7-3 IIAC). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Waverly. A link to live stats is available at CoeAthletics.com.
