CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 win over St. Norbert Saturday in the regular season finale at Clark Racquet Center.
At number one doubles, Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) and Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian) picked up their 20th win of the season, as they beat Elizabeth Manlick and Meg Witt 8-1. The win was the 50th total win of the year for French, as she became the fifth player in school history to hit the mark. Kaitlin Fosler (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) and Sarah Lasecki (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) beat Ashley Randazzo and Anna Gosz 8-5. The victory was the 75th career doubles win for Lasecki, as she became the seventh player in school history to reach the mark.
Resnick was a 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 winner over Manlick at number one doubles, as she picked up her 20th win of the season. Resnick moved into ninth in school history with 57 career singles wins, while moving into eighth in school history with 48 wins this season. At number two singles, French beat Katherine Ake 6-3, 6-0 for her 26th singles win of the year, tied for the second-most in school history. Lasecki beat Gosz 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 at number three singles, as she moved into ninth with 124 career wins at Coe. Fosler was a 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 winner over Randazzo at number four singles, while Ella White (Roseville, Minn./St. Anthony Village) beat Stephanie Doerfert 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 at number six singles for the final victory.
The Kohawks (16-9) return to action on Saturday, as they travel to the Iowa Conference Automatic Qualifier Tournament in Decorah. Coe is the number two seed and will have a first-round bye. The Kohawks will face Dubuque or Loras in the semifinals at 9 a.m.
