LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After a pair of losses last week, the Coe College softball team dropped to 15th in this weeks NFCA Top 25 Poll. This marks the ninth-straight week Coe has been ranked.
The Kohawks are 29-8 on the season and one of three Iowa Conference schools ranked in the poll. Luther remained at fourth this week, while Central dropped two spots to 14th. The Kohawks own wins over fourth-ranked Luther, sixth-ranked St. John Fisher, 13th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater and 14th-ranked Central. Three of Coe's losses have come to teams ranked in the top 14 in the nation.
Coe ranks 13th in the nation with 2.71 stolen bases per game, while ranking 18th in the nation with a 1.55 ERA. Coe's .800 winning percentage ranks 19th in the nation. Mallory McArtor (Riverside, Iowa/Mid-Prairie) ranks 16th in the nation with .89 stolen bases per game, while Haley Jones (Waterloo, Iowa/West) ranks 18th in the nation with nine home runs.
The 15th-ranked Kohawks (29-8, 11-5 IIAC) return to action on Saturday, as they host St. Ambrose (30-15). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Clark Field. A link to live video and stats is available at CoeAthletics.com. Coe will honor its five seniors in between games of the doubleheader.
