COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - In the first dual meet of the season, the third-ranked Coe College Kohawks came away with a 35-3 win over Central College in dual meet action. Coe earned one win by forfeit and two wins by fall in the season-opening dual.
At 125-pounds, junior
Clayton Rush (Aledo, Ill./Aledo) was as a 25-9 winner over Justin Marx to start the meet. A 6-2 win by
Bryan Telgenhoff (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) over Chris Kilgannon put the Kohawks up 8-0 in the dual. Coe answered with a fall, technical fall and major decision to blow the meet open.
The Kohawks finished the match by winning by fall, forfeit and decision to take the dual meet.
The third-ranked Kohawks will return to action Friday as they take on the two-time defending NCAA Division I National Champion Iowa Hawkeyes. The match will start at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Carver Hawkeye Arena.
