LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Without playing a game in the last week, the Coe College softball team dropped five spots to 20th in the latest NFCA Top 25 Poll. This is the 10th-straight week Coe has been ranked.
The Kohawks are 29-8 on the season and one of three Iowa Conference schools ranked in the poll. Luther moved up a spot to third, while Central moved up four spots to 10th this week. The Kohawks own wins over third-ranked Luther, sixth-ranked St. John Fisher, ninth-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, 14th-ranked Central and 17th-ranked St. Thomas. Three of Coe's losses have come to teams ranked in the top 10 in the nation. The Kohawks also remained second in the NCAA Regional Rankings.
Coe ranks 13th in the nation with 2.65 stolen bases per game, while ranking 16th in the nation with a 1.61 ERA. Coe's .784winning percentage ranks 26th in the nation. Senior Mallory McArtor (Riverside, Iowa/Mid-Prairie) ranks 19th in the nation with .86 stolen bases per game, while sophomore Haley Jones (Waterloo, Iowa/West) ranks 24th in the nation with nine home runs.
The 20th-ranked Kohawks (29-8, 11-5 IIAC) return to action on Friday, as they face Loras (22-12, 6-8 IIAC) in the Iowa Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in Decorah. A link to live video and stats is available at CoeAthletics.com.
